

Paul Ralph Hamrick, Sr., age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Paul was born on November 8, 1938 in Roane County, WV, the son of the late Reverend Clarence Wesley Hamrick & Elizabeth Pearl Hamrick.
Paul was also preceded in death by his siblings Lucille Angel, Dennis Hamrick Sr., John Harvey Hamrick, Eugene Hamrick, Delmar Hamrick, and Clarence Wesley Hamrick, Jr.
Paul served his country & retired from the United States Navy, followed by a career with the U. S. Postal service retiring as a Postmaster in Louisburg, NC. Paul spent 42 years total in federal service. Paul was a devoted husband, father & friend. He spent many years coaching & refereeing his sons’ sport teams when the boys were young. No matter where they were stationed throughout the world during his naval career, he always made time to be with his family. Paul was a passionate golfer and enjoyed playing the game as much as he could with his wife & sons as well as in local leagues. Paul also enjoyed reading, gardening & volunteering. His most recent volunteer work includes Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity & Brunswick Senior Resources. He will always be remembered as a very sharp fellow always dressed to a “T”.
Paul leaves behind his loving wife and best friend, Patricia. They were high school sweethearts and were married for 59 years. Paul is also survived by his son Paul Hamrick Jr., and wife Karen of Oak Island, NC and his son Rodney Hamrick of Raleigh, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 25 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
