Paul E Kasanoff

In 1961, Paul received his degree from State University of New York in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He also completed graduate courses obtaining a New York State teacher’s certificate.

Paul was the owner of a consulting firm which performed high level executive research along with layout, design and management development studies for food service and hotel industries. He worked for many years in various hospitality positions.

In 1970, he and two partners purchased a Bed and Breakfast in Vermont, which they successfully ran until 1974. He obtained his Vermont Real Estate Brokers License in 1977 and practiced for almost 40 years until his retirement.

He was also a member of the Wilmington School Board and the Wilmington Selectboard, the Windham County Board of Civil Authority and was a Windham Regional Commissioner.

On July 20, 1989, Paul married Shirly Ann Holland. Following his retirement, in 2016, they moved to South Carolina. He was a dedicated husband, and they were blessed to spend time together hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a member of Waterbrook Community Church.

Paul was a Justice of the Peace and loved performing marriage ceremonies. His most enjoyable marriage ceremony was the ceremony of Nathan and Amanda Paradis.

In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by his stepson, Nathan Paradis and his wife, Amanda; five grandchildren, Michael, Dominick, Mercedes, Mahrie, Ahnya; brother-in-law, David Lockett; sister-in-law, Ilene Holden; brother-in-law, Robert Holland and wife, Shane; many nieces, nephews and cousins. His twin sister, Linda Lockett, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Highway 90, Little River, SC. A gathering for a light lunch will follow at Long Bay Villa’s Clubhouse in Longs.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Waterbrook Community Church for their Children’s Program; 2310 Highway 9E., Longs, SC 29568.
