Polly was a graduate of Huntingdon College and majored in Education. She later went on to receive her masters in Education at Troy University. She taught school for many years including Sunday school at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church. She took pleasure in music and sang in the church choir. She could play the piano. Polly won her piano at a minor league baseball game in Montgomery, Alabama in 1947. Her daddy bought a lot of raffle tickets because he knew she wanted that piano. The piano which many have heard the ivory keys and sing a-longs is still with the family.
Polly, her daughter Charlotte, and her sister Martha Lee were on a softball team in Snowdoun, Alabama in the 1970s. Her daughters and her nephews Don and Todd Hall were out there at every game cheering them on. The field was across the road from Hall Brothers Dairy and next to a cow pasture.
When line dancing became popular, Polly would “put on her dancing boots”, her western attire along with her shiny bling jewelry and go line dancing with her friends.
Polly was an avid reader. She even started up a book club. They would meet once a month to discuss a book that they had read. She was an excellent bridge player and a connoisseur of good food and chocolate. She enjoyed decorating her house for every holiday, especially Christmas. Polly was full of life and adored being with her family and friends.
