R. W. Wood

Richard Walter Wood, Jr., (R.W.), age 81, passed away May 25, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Wood was born January 12, 1935 in Wampee, SC to the late Richard Walter and Maybell Causey Wood.

Mr. Wood was owner and operator of R. W. Wood’s General Store for 60 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, a Mason, a Shriner and a member of Lakeside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Pope Wood; son, Richard Walter Wood, III; two brothers, Hubert Wood and Marcus Wood; four sisters, Mabeleen Edge, Agnes Little, Armenta Prince (Charles), Mabel Gooding (Bill); two grandchildren, Peyton and Paxton Wood.

He is predeceased by three brothers, Clifton, Teddie and Henderson Wood; two sisters, Cleo Chestnut and Annabell Wood.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 27 from 6-8 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 28 at 11 a.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church.
