Mrs. Rhonda Henry Cauthen, age 79, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born February 2, 1947, in Lancaster, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Hazel Barnwell Henry and Helen Sane Henry. She was the wife of Floyd Allen Cauthen, Jr.
She was employed with Comporium (Lancaster Telephone Company) for more than 40 years. Her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed working in her yard, cooking for others, and watching sports, especially Gamecock football, which was her favorite. She had a talent for sewing, painting, and decorating.
She was known for her thoughtfulness and kind heart, as well as her beautiful home and yard. She cherished the relationships she built throughout her life, including those with friends, coworkers, and her neighbors on Shady Lane. God blessed her with the gift of giving, and she graciously helped anyone in need.
She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Lancaster, and her faith was very important to her. She began each day by reading her Bible and enjoyed listening to the teachings of Charles Stanley. She loved the Lord and trusted Him throughout her life.
Rhonda is survived by her daughter, Kendall (Chris), and her three grandchildren, Alex, Abby, and Nicolas, to whom she was the best Nana.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Floyd; her sister and best friend, Elaine Leopard (Charles); and her nephew, Michael Hunter, who is survived by his wife, Tami.
Her family will honor her life privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to In Touch Ministries, P.O. Box 7900, Atlanta, GA 30357, or First Baptist Church Lancaster, P.O. Box 670, Lancaster, SC 29721.
