Richard H. Black

Richard H. Black, 75, passed away peacefully May 31, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Born on December 1, 1949 in South Boston, VA, he was the son of the late Edwin N. and Marion B. Stortz Black.

Mr. Black was a member of Living Water Baptist Church. He was a Probation Officer for the State of Virginia for 33 years and a member of the Army National Guard. He graduated from Campbell College with a degree in religion. Richard and Rhonda lived in Shenandoah Valley, VA for 48 years prior to moving to Little River, SC. Richard loved his animals, art, the beach and mountains, and was a wonderful provider for his family.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Rhonda Fenstermacher Black; two sons, James C. Black and Ryan S. Black; and one granddaughter, Charlee.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 5, 2025 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. John Goudelock will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Living Water Baptist Church, Building Fund 1569 SC Hwy 9, Longs, SC or Kind Keepers Animal Rescue, Building Fund 1500 LD Drive, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
