Richard "Dick" Craig passed away peacefully March 21, 2018 with his beloved wife and best friend Debbie by his side. He lived big and loved big, as the big man he was in so many ways. Doing things "his way" was exactly how he left us. He will be missed by so many.
Born June 4, 1950 to the parents of Richard Walter Craig and Juanita Smith Craig of Lexington, Kentucky. Dick was an officer on the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Fire Department from 1972 until retirement in 2000. He loved boating, golfing, any sport or game that came his way and, of course, the beach where he and his wife spent many days reflecting on family and friends they held so dear. Above all a die-hard University of Kentucky fan.
Dick is survived by his wife Debbie Craig; daughter Elizabeth Craig-Penden (Jimmy Peden); granddaughters Abigail Peden and Rosie Peden of Nashville, Tennessee; sons David Craig (Janet Craig) of Charleston, South Carolina; Christopher Cousins (Katie Cousins) of Charleston, South Carolina, and Cody Cousins of Seattle, Washington; sisters Paula Head (David Head) and Rebecca Purdue (John Purdue); nephews Jon Slone, Richard Purdue, and Andrew Head; niece Samantha Zarycki (Eric Zarycki) and son Oliver Zarycki.
A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends.
A guestbook is available at www.leefhandcrematory.
Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the family.
