NORTH MYRTLE BEACH - Richard Chris Rensberger, 74, passed away after a long battle with cancer on March 21, 2024. His wife was laying beside him holding hands peacefully. Chris was born August 7, 1949, in Kendallville, Indiana, the son of Richard and Betty Rensberger. He grew up helping in their bakery. Chris graduated from East Noble High School, Class of 1967. Following graduation, he attended International Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He married in Kendallville and has 2 surviving daughters, Amy Kelly and Angelia Rensberger, and grandson, of Spokane, Washington. Chris is also survived by his older sister, Jan Noll of Angola, Indiana, and many family relatives. Chris loved miniature pinschers and was preceded in death by his little "Mo" in 2013.
After moving to NMB, in 2004, he met his wife Rebecca ‘Becky’ Rensberger, becoming a doting father to her 2 sons, Jason Moore and Brett Todd, and 2 daughters, Cassidy Robertson and Ashley Todd, all of North Myrtle Beach. Chris surrounded himself with an “instant” family including many grandchildren. He found himself a loving family that welcomed, treasured, and adored him with a new life in NMB.
Chris was the light of every room he walked in. He had many stories that kept everyone laughing.
Chris loved life and had an everyday passion. He always put his wife as number “1”. Chris had many interests: golf, family, travel, style, music, and MOEN. He was dedicated to all of them. Chris worked for MOEN and the plumbing industry for over forty years. He loved “kibitzing” chatting as he would always say. Through his career he met many people in the plumbing industry that became his family. Relationships were important to Chris, and he kept those relationships throughout life. He always told his wife he was a ‘spicket’ salesman.
Chris was nicknamed RENZIE to many or all. He loved good food and lots of sweets which he contributed to growing up in grandparent’s bakery. Chris and Becky loved traveling and spent many years in and out of the country. He loved cruising and OBX. Chris brought Becky right into his circle of friends: loving and doing life.
After retirement from his dream job at MOEN, he also worked several years at CROW CREEK Golf Course. Golf was one of the passions he introduced and encouraged his wife, as they spent their lives together. Becky loved this!
Chris was a Christian man of strong faith. Chris loved the Lord. He was active in his church as an usher and greeter.
Chris had many “RENZIE-ISMS” He always told his wife “I am one man, doing the work of a hundred, for the benefit of thousands.”
After retirement, Chris also made a dream come true by designing and ordering his CORVETTE. He was a man that loved music, concerts, and would always be playing his favorite album. His voice and stories will truly be missed by all people that got a chance and privilege to know and adore him!
Family and friends are welcome to attend a service that will be held at 12:00 PM on April 6, 2024 at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens.
