

Bob lived in Ohio until his teenage years when his family moved to Gastonia, NC. After retiring from a 20+ year career with FedEx, Bob moved to Myrtle Beach, SC. He enjoyed karaoke and thrifting where he loved finding things others no longer wanted and repairing them. He was an avid, devoted and passionate Duke Blue Devils, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Cleveland Browns Fan.
A proud Christian, American and forever thankful for serviceman, Bob will always be remembered for helping the veteran community, including the homeless veterans. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Bob will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved him.
Surviving are his brother, Kenneth Cocker (Rosemarie) of Melbourne, Florida; sister, Kathy Sosebee (Monty) of Gastonia, NC; sons, Brian Cocker (Ashley) of Bessemer City, Chris Cocker (Jessica) of Holden Beach; grandchildren, Lucas Cocker of Bessemer City, and McKenlie Cocker, Zechariah Cocker, Raegan Cocker, and Abigail Cocker all of Holden Beach. Also surviving Bob are his nieces and nephew, Monica Gibson (Rob), Katie Parrino (Joey) and Joel Cocker (Carrianne).
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on February 21, 2026, at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Veterans Welcome Home Resource Center in Little River, SC.
