Robert Harris Preston passed on October 5, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on June 22, 1952, in Greensboro, NC, Robert was a resident of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Paul and Anna Preston.
Robert worked as a CPA for Builders FirstSource before retiring in 2007 and enjoyed his many travels with his wife, Rita. His "bucket list" trip to Egypt was his favorite. A faithful fan of Duke basketball, he was an exercise fanatic and jogger. Robert was known to seldom turn away a serving of black cherry ice cream. The neighbor dog, Coal, is sure to miss his morning visits and bone biscuit from Robert.
Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Rita Bryant Preston; a nephew, Rocky Bryant; his niece, Tracy Bryant-Ray (Tracy); great-nephews Wesley, Bryant and McKinley; and great-nieces Roxanna and Jaclyn.
A funeral service is scheduled at Lee Funeral Home in Little River, SC, on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 1:00pm. Burial will take place on Friday, October 9th at the Glencoe United Methodist Church Cemetery in Summerfield, NC.
