Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Janet Schuster; children Sheryl (Todd), Greg (Wenying), and Jeff (Kathy); grandchildren Hunter, Alexis, Alan, Adam, Brooke, and Tyler; and brother Chuck (Betty). He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Louise Schuster, sister Mary Louise, and brothers Tom and Jim.
A proud veteran of the Korean War, Bob served in the U.S. Army and later graduated from Ferris State University on the GI Bill. He dedicated 30 years of his career to Nabisco as a cookie salesman, where he was known for his warmth and dedication.
Bob lived for many years in Brighton, Michigan, before retiring to Little River in 1990. He was a passionate University of Michigan football fan, an avid golfer, and enjoyed bowling and camping with his children during their younger years. He found joy in working in the yard and was always ready to lend a hand to neighbors.
A member of the Elks and a past Grand Knight at the Ann Arbor Knights of Columbus, Bob was deeply involved in his community. He never met a stranger—always ready with a smile, a story, and a kind word for dogs and babies alike.
He ended every day with three Oreo cookies, no matter what dessert came before—a sweet tradition that reflected his simple joys and enduring spirit.
Bob will be remembered for his generosity, humor, and unwavering love for his family and community. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
