

Born in Berwyn, Illinois, he was the son of the late Charlotte Dunning Witt and Robert M. Witt, Jr. Robert was a teacher and worked as a Tool and Die Maker at AT&T.
Robert was a true outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and camping. He had a passion for golf and said that every golfer deserves at least one hole-in-one in life. Robert’s dream came true at Black Bear Golf Course. Always a dog lover, he spent his time gardening and working in the yard. Robert loved working with his hands and kept busy by repairing things around the house and teaching his children to do the same.
Surviving is his loving wife of more than 60 years, Deanna Blair Witt; sons Michael Witt of Myrtle Beach, SC, and David Witt of Longs, SC; and daughter Tammi Michaelson of North Myrtle Beach, SC; his grandchildren James Michaelson of Nashville, TN and Carly Michaelson, of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Kathy King (Ron) of Flora, Il; and his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Witt of Unionville, TN.
His brother James Witt and sister-in-law Judith Blair preceded Robert in death.
