He was born in Morris Hill, Maine. The son of the late Ruel William Wortman and Elva Pearl (Bird) Wortman.
Rodger was the owner and operator of R&J Trucking, which he operated for 35 years. He started driving trucks at 17 years of age.
Rodger enjoyed spending time with his family and hanging out in his garage, loved riding his lawnmower and taking pride in his yardwork. He enjoyed wood burning, concrete work, and hanging out with his great-grandkids.
Rodger left this earth to reunite with his late wife of 61 years, Jeraldine Wortman.
Rodger is survived by his children, Jeraldine (Bill), Regina, Rodger (Kandi), and Elissa (James); grandchildren, Matt, Tammy, Jamie, Lauren, Ashley, Rodger Joseph, Nicolas, Marissa, Karlee, William, Branden, and Riana; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, Joseph, Michael, Gunner, Jackson, Charlotte, Jayce, Emilio, and two others on the way.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
A prayer service will be held at 11am on Monday, January 15, 2024 in the chapel of Lee Funeral Home.
