

Russell Edward Eddy Jr., 87, was embraced by the Lord on August 26, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 1, 1933 in Washington, D.C., as the son of the late Russell Edward Eddy, Sr. and Margaret Anna Catlin Eddy.
Mr. Eddy attended DeMatha Catholic High School and is in its Athletic Hall of Fame. Some of his many accolades include Golden Gloves winner, athletic scholarship recipient in boxing, graduate of the University of Maryland, member of the Million Dollar Round Table and one of top 25 insurance agents as noted by Fortune Magazine during his career. He was also named Man of the Year in Silver Spring, Maryland during the late 70s, served as two-time Exalted Ruler of the Elks Club and was a member of the Garrett County Hospital Board for several years. Mr. Eddy served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Doris Evelyn Yanicki Eddy; son, Michael Alan Eddy and wife, Leigh; daughters, Karen Marie Hutson and husband Craig; and Colleen Denise Wakefield and husband Collins; brother, Ronald Eddy; sister, Bonnie Smith; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his eldest son, Steven Joseph Eddy.
A funeral Mass, with military honors, will be held at 11am on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to DeMatha Catholic High School at DeMatha.org to “Program Support” in memory of Russell Eddy.
