Carol and Michael, ten minutes ago,  (as we were searching for you again), we learned that Sam left this world for his real home.  Our hearts ache for the two of you, Craig, Dan, Vicki, and all of your families.  It is true that there are absolutely no words in the whole of all the human languages that convey what the heart feels.  We pray that you will continue to feel the comfort of the Holy Spirit and the peace of Jesus.  May the power of the prayers, that all your loved ones are praying, bring continued strength to fruition.  We are praying for Gail, Samuel, Andrew, Leah and Miriam, and their families – that God will make this temporary separation bearable.  We praise God that He is the faithful refuge that only He can be.  You are precious to us. Gail, Samuel, Miriam, Leah, and Andrew my heart is with you and may God grant you peace. There are men who come along and influenece  your life. Then God places you in the path of someone who Impacts your life. 
Sam impacted my life in so many ways, from being a Sunday school teacher, a mentor, a friend. Allowing me to be a part of the family, while watching these amazing kids grow up. A man of wisdom and standing firm in the faith. A man who loved his family.

I met Sam around 2010 on the tennis courts in Duncan , SC.  We began playing both against and with each other in recreational tennis. The following year I captioned a team that Sam and his friend Robert joined. Our team made it to the State championship in Greenville, SC.  Then in 2013 I joined Riverside Tennis Club in Greer, SC and a team was formed. I spoke with the Pro and Captain of my team at Riverside that we needed to recruit a non member player named Sam Edwards.  I explained to them what a solid player Sam was and what an asset he would be to our team.  We ended up 1st place winning the State, going to Sectionals in Georgia and then going own to the Nationals in Sunrise, AZ. 
Sam was a huge contribution to the team not only as a teammate and competitor but most of all a truly good man and loved by everyone. 
From our 2013 final Nationalist team, Sam will be truly missed and all our condolences to Gail and his family.

Gail, Samuel, Miriam, Leah, and Andrew. Michael and I were so sorry  to hear of the passing of Sam, you all are in our thoughts and prayers. We had some fond memories of going to church with you all at Emmanuel. Love and prayers, Shirley May Rogers, and Michael May.

Jerry and I feel so blessed to have called Sam our friend. He was one of the most Godly and kindest men we have ever known.  I can just picture Sam seeing Jesus for the very first time. God has chosen Sam to go home to heaven.  It is a sudden loss for all of us.  I am praying for God's love to be felt by Gail, Samuel, Andrew, Leah, Miriam.  Sam was a friend of twenty years.  We worked together at BMW, sharing hard work on the line and amazing work with the New Model Team, and fun times in Germany.  He loved the Lord, was always bragging about Gail and the kids, and was a wonderful friend and work partner to me.  I will miss talking with you, Sam and am sad to miss having your big smile when you showed me your and Gail's new home.  Your Day is Done.  Your memory and accomplishments will not die.  Love
