Born in Lumberton, N.C. on January 9th, 1965, Shannon was the daughter of Diana M. Collins and the late Bobby C. Collins.
Shannon attended Miller-Motte Technical College and several years later obtained a degree in Early Childhood Education from UNC-Pembroke. She taught school at Waccamaw Academy, Whiteville City Schools and Bladen County Schools with her latest being Westminster Preschool at Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church. Her joy came from being with younger children and influencing them as they grew into adolescents and adults.
A member of First Baptist Church in Whiteville, N.C., Shannon served on several committees; taught Sunday School; and sang in an Ensemble. She had a beautiful voice along with other great qualities! Her Christian faith was evident to all that knew her.
Shannon will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend. Although she had a soft voice and calm demeanor, she loved to laugh! Her face would light up and it was contagious to all around. She enjoyed being outdoors, the sunshine and GOD’S beauty. She loved the beach and definitely had sand between her toes. You could always find her shagging whether in the kitchen, living room, or any of her favorite lifetime beach hangouts.
Although Shannon’s time with us was too brief, the depth of love she showed will forever remain in our hearts. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, food and flowers over the past week. Your kindness, love and friendships will forever remain in our hearts.
Shannon is survived by John Sneddon, her husband, two adoring daughters Carmin Ray (Sage) and Bryanna R. Dadush (Simon). She was blessed with two precious grandchildren, Gabriel Joseph and Ocean Ray, whom brought immeasurable joy and light to her life.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach. The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home on Friday, August 23rd, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
In remembrance of Shannon’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Kind Keepers Animal Rescue of North Myrtle Beach, 1500 L.D. Drive, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
