

Born in Tabor City, NC, Sterling was the son of the late Hubert S. Stevens and Cecil G. Soles Stevens. A proud United States Air Force veteran, he served his country with honor. After his tenure, Sterling worked in the retail sales and wholesale industry.
Sterling lived a beautiful and meaningful 94 years, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he loved his wife Jane and family deeply. Above all, Sterling cherished his church and loved the Lord with all his heart. His faith was the foundation of his life.
He was also a lifelong Gamecock football fan, and cheering on his beloved Gamecocks brought him much joy.
Sterling’s life was one of faith, love, service, and family, a life beautifully lived and deeply loved.
Survivors include his son, Chip Stevens; grandchildren Erin Parkinson (Shawn), Chad Tyndall, Savanna Crean (Patrick) and Chelsea Stevens; his great grandchildren Knox, Cade, Bella and James. Sterling was predeceased by his loving wife, Jane; his daughter, Renee Tyndall; a brother, Harvey Stevens; his sister Marci Beaverstock; and grandson, Josh Reeley.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Lee Funeral Home, 11840 Hwy. 90, in Little River, SC. Funeral service is scheduled for Monday, August 31st at Lee Funeral Home at 11:00am. Burial will follow at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens, 65 Hwy. 90, in Little River.
