Susan Mary Killian

Born on June 12, 1946 in Plainfield, NJ to Caroline and John Ambis. Susan grew up in the township of Kenilworth, NJ where she met her high school sweetheart, Chaz, later attending East Orange Medical school to become a registered nurse. Susan and Charles wed on May 31, 1969 and were blessed with two children that became her priority in life. After finding the perfect place to raise their family in Vermont, Susan became a local school nurse to allow her the time and flexibility to spend with her family. After retirement Susan continued to take care of others donating a majority of her time to the church, delivering meals on wheels and providing hospice care. After her children were grown, the next light in her life was her grandchildren. Starting the next chapter of their life, Susan and Charles moved to Little River, SC where they formed many new friendships in their new social circle. Susan enjoyed BINGO, playing the slots at the casino and joining her friends on the golf course. Susan was best known for her kind heart and giving spirit.

Susan was predeceased by her parents, Caroline and John Ambis and is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 54 years, Charles J. Killian Jr.; one son, Charles Killian III; one daughter, Jennifer Killian; two sisters, Linda Bertolotti and Mary Anne Benko; and six grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 26th at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
