Funny enough I met Tommy the same day I met his brother, my husband, Jason, I was very nervous about my first date with Jason so to make me more comfortable Tommy joined Jason and I for dinner. Tommy was always there for everyone, he was an awesome son, father, husband, brother, uncle, friend, and teacher. He was funny, smart, outgoing and always ready for his next adventure! He will be missed greatly! My heart will always be with Allie and Vanessa.

How do you say goodbye to an old friend? How do you sum up the uniqueness of a soul in 2000 words or less? I tried for days to come up with what to say. No words could never do him justice. But I’ll offer mine anyway.
Though I haven't had direct contact with Tommy since the years of waiting tables and making bad decisions, his sudden passing hit me close to the heart. Tommy was always outside himself when he was with others. He was selfless, in the way that if you had a problem, he'd put his own life on hold to help you solve it. He'd pick you up for work, was always ready with a smile, and hardly ever complained. Like any of us, he probably struggled with his own issues, but he was the first to put himself aside and help a friend, even as a young man.
He was a part of the time in my life I was making my own bad decisions. There was a group of us and all together, like a family, we worked hard and played harder. Some would say we all grew up together. I was not surprised to see how many of us from that time in his life were at his memorial service. Tommy didn't just touch the lives of his students. He touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with, from the random woman he'd open the door for, to the hottest mess of us who needed a slurring ride home. He was bright; he lit up any room he entered and his presence demanded attention.
More than once Tommy told me what I didn’t want to hear. He was a true friend; the kind that wouldn’t lie when it mattered. He was a straight shooter, whether he was bringing you a hard truth or if he was facing a paintball challenge. He didn’t sugar coat things, but he wasn’t blunt like a spoon either. He was surgical. And I miss him.
At his funeral; standing room only, I was awed by how many lives he had touched during his short stay with us. In only thirty-six years, he acquired a room full of people from all walks of life, from every corner; and I know that wasn’t them all. I know personally the missing f

I'm so sorry for the terrible grief you're facing. There are others of us on this same road; you do not travel alone.

I was at Sam around the time Tommy was finishing his bachelors degree. I had almost completed my Masters and was short of cash to buy an air ticket back home to Africa, so I opened a Go fund me account. Tommy didn't only help me with my lab work for my thesis but he was one of the generous donors on my Go fund me who helped me get home. Generosity and kindness and just great company are hard to come by. I am glad to have met him.

Tommy was 12 when I met him. One of my many fondiest memories of Tommy was when he came to visit his brother and I when he was 13 we took him camping. He found a dead snake and liked to chase me with it. Tommy, i thank you for being such an amazing Uncle to Haley and CJ. I always loved hearing about their adventures with you and Allie. I love you and you are forever my little brother.

From diapers & popsicles to becoming parents together, I cannot think of a single period of our lives that we were not connected. You are one of the most genuinely generous & caring people I'll ever know. We got into plenty of trouble together, but we also grew together, expanded each others' horizons & supported each other for 36 years. I cherish that we preserved our childhood friendship into our children meeting. We love that you brought Allie into our gang. We are so proud of you for pursuing your dreams, going back to school & becoming a wonderful role model. And the father that you were to Nessa is inspirational.
I have always loved you and always will.

I never had the chance to know Tommy personally but my brother Chase was a good friend of Tommy’s and listening to the way Chase talked about him, I knew Tommy was a very special guy. So sorry for your loss.
