Born on December 18, 1954, in Fayetteville, NC, Wanda was a daughter of Shirley McLauren Gay and the late Earl Gay.
A loving and devoted wife, Wanda married Kerry L. Davis on July 3, 1972. They were married in Smithfield, NC, but moved to Monroe, NC before making their home in Wingate, NC. Wanda and Kerry shared a beautiful life for 45 years until his passing on July 4, 2017 in Wingate. Affectionately known as a “saint” by her in-laws, Wanda was always kind and loving. Anyone who had the honor of knowing her loved her as she loved them.
Wanda worked as a mortgage loan processor for 3 decades and then later helped her son Jason in insurance agency Kerry started in 1985. In 2021, Wanda moved to Little River to be with her sons. She loved being outdoors, and a beautiful day on the beach. Her personality was as lovely as the tulips and hibiscus she loved, and sitting on the porch listening and watching birds made for a perfect day.
Surviving are her sons, Jason Davis (wife, Kristina), Kerry John Davis; brothers, Jodie Gay, David Gay; sisters, Renee Murphy and Debbie Perry. Wanda is also survived by her grandchildren, Meadow, River and Slate Davis, Amber Smith (husband, Russell), Alyssa Davis, and Emaleigh as well as great-grandchildren, Cayden, Connor, Canon and Caroline.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Highway 90, Little River, SC 29566.
