March 13, 1947-November 25, 2024
Watson Gary Freeman, known as Gary to his family and friends, passed away November 25, 2024, at his home in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Born in 1947, in Walton, Georgia, Gary was the son of the late Frank V. Freeman and Ora Mae (Kitchens) Freeman.
Gary was a graduate of Newton County High School. In Covington, Georgia. He met his late wife Cecilia (Smith) Freeman in Covington where she and her family also resided. Gary was an excellent businessman and began one of his first in the early 1980’s, Freeman Trucking Company.
Gary and Cecilia had three children, Erin, Adam and Daniel. They soon relocated to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Gary started Cherry Grove Hardware. He was passionate about his store and cooking. Gary loved to cook and created meals for his family most evenings after working all day. Gary thought he would try his hand at retirement and sold the hardware store. Retirement was not for him.
Less than a year after the sale of the hardware store, Gary began C & G Automotive. The business began to grow and soon had a very nice following with people in the community befriending and loving Gary for his kind heart and excellent business sense.
Gary was very faithful and was so happy to tell all who would listen that he was saved through the blood of Jesus Christ. What a glorious reunion with his Wife, Parents and others who went on before him.
Gary Freeman was preceded in death by his parents: Frank V. Freeman and Ora Mae (Kitchens) Freeman, his sister, Carolyn (Freeman) Harris and his bride Cecilia (Smith) Freeman. Gary is survived by his children; Erin (Byron), Adam (Christina) and Daniel (Gayla) Freeman as well as two granddaughters; Brynlee and Gwendolyn Freeman and his friends and family.
