William N. Byrus, Jr.

William N. Byrus, Jr., age 64, of Carolina Shores, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. Born on May 27, 1960 in Bayshore, New York, he was a son of the late William and Ruth Byrus.

A prayer service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

William is survived by his loving and devoted wife of almost 35 years, Eileen Kilpatrick Byrus; sons, Billy Byrus, Michael Byrus (Nicole); grandchildren, Juliette, Reagan, Madison; brother, Andrew Byrus (Mary Ann); sisters, Barbara Mohr (Jerry), Mary Shiels (Walter); canine companions, Sandy, Chloe and Winnie. He was preceded in death by his parents along with his sister, Joann Higgins.

William and Eileen relocated to Carolina Shores in 2017 from New York to enjoy picture perfect days, better known as “PPD’s” by William. A skilled handyman, he had a successful career in maintenance, construction and property management. William was also a devout Catholic who stood very strong in his faith. He was loved by many, especially his nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
