Bill was born to Coleman and Marion Faris on November 11, 1943 and spent most of his life in
Richmond, Virginia before relocating to North Myrtle Beach 7 years ago.
He worked many years for Fischbach and Moore before establishing his own business, Premier Electric Co. Bill is a member of the Virginia Shaggers Hall of Fame, an accolade bestowed for his
involvement in the shag dance community (Richmond Shag Club). Bill led a very active life,
participating in a variety of pastimes including golf, tennis, boating, and skiing. He was a lover of
tinkering, constantly finding new hobbies, such as calligraphy, sewing, and embroidery. He had a
lifelong affection for gardening and tended meticulously to his beloved Faris Park at his home in
Chester, Virginia and later his hanging planters at his oasis in North Myrtle Beach.
He is survived by his wife Marcia Faris, stepson Jac White (Erin), sons William Faris (Carrie), Ross
Faris (Jennifer), Jason Faris (Carla), and their mother Peggy Faris. He is also survived by sister Pat
Toner and his 8 grandchildren, as well as many friends and extended family members.
There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a
donation to the charity of your choice in Bill’s honor.
