

William A Genovese (Bill) 80, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away Monday June 16th 2025 at Grand Strand Medical Center. Born in Stamford, CT. March 3, 1945, William was the son of the late William (Vito) A. Genovese and Lydia Raiteri Genovese.
In 1964 Bill Graduated J.M. Wright Technical School in Stamford, CT and went to work as a draftsmen for Reflectone, a flight simulator design company.
On August 30 1969 Bill married Betty Jo Creech from Stamford, CT formerly of Bennettsville, SC.
Bill later went into the restaurant business partnering with his brother Anthony and brother-in-law John Harvey opening Lords Restaurant in Springdale CT., then Fieldstone Terrace in Norwalk CT. offering fine dining and dancing. Later opening Fieldstone Manor in Norwalk, CT that focused on catering, weddings and banquets.
Bill was a very dedicated and hardworking individual who enjoyed spending his time off with family and friends boating on Long Island Sound, visiting “the island” off the coast of Stamford. They would grill, water ski and enjoy spending time together having fun in the sun.
In 1989 Bill and Betty moved to Myrtle Beach, SC. He started a new career as a realtor with Sloan Realty and Endless Summer Vacations. He quickly excelled to become realtor of the year. Soon after he became Broker in Charge at the company. Bill enjoyed new people and helping them find their dream homes and vacation properties.
In addition to his loving wife Betty, he is survived by his sons Winston Genovese and William Genovese Jr. (Kristen), grandson Michael Genovese, sister Carolyn Genovese Harvey (John), and sister-in-law Marie Genovese as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother Anthony Genovese.
A Celebration of Life with light refreshments will be held July 24, 2025 2 - 4pm at the North Myrtle Beach Historical Museum, 799 2nd Ave N, North Myrtle Beach, SC.
