

Born and raised in Dillon, South Carolina, Billy began his professional life by establishing and operating a successful finance company, credit bureau, real estate/ construction business. Known for his hard work and fairness he built lasting relationships throughout the region.
In time his entrepreneurial spirit led him to North Myrtle Beach, where he purchased a real estate business renaming it Grand Strand Realty and built it into a successful real estate and vacation rental business. As a builder and developer he set new standards for large oceanfront vacation homes influencing the growth and quality of coastal development along the Grand Strand.
When he wasn't building or managing properties Billy took joy in sportfishing on his beloved boat and later spending time on his farm, continually improving and nurturing the land he loved.
As a Shriner and Mason he dedicated himself to service and fellowship. Billy was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and Marine Corp. In North Myrtle Beach, he was an attendee of Chapel By The Sea Baptist Church where he cherished the worship and community.
Above all, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, a caring steadfast father and grandfather. His family was the heart of his world and he enriched their lives with his wisdom, compassion and unwavering support.
Billy leaves behind a legacy of strength, generosity and purpose. His presence will be deeply missed and forever treasured by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Nancy Herndon Seddinger; his three children; Cathy Seddinger Baxley of Florence, South Carolina, Angela Seddinger (Bo Gilbert) of North Myrtle Beach and Sam Seddinger (Hilary) of North Myrtle Beach; stepdaughters Allison Cunningham (Dan) and Austin White (Abe); sister, Lola Seddinger Nunn (Ray) of North Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Christina Baxley Jones (Mike) of Ohio, Daniel Baxley (Dylan) of Dillon, South Carolina, JT Baxley (Savannah) of Hartsville, South Carolina, Vance Seddinger of North Myrtle Beach, Abraham White and Anderson White of North Myrtle Beach, Jeffrey Dew (Nora) of North Myrtle Beach, Ian Dew of Indiana and a multitude of beautiful great grandchildren. Billy was preceded in death by his daughter, Cecelia Seddinger Dickson and his brother, Charlie Seddinger.
A visitation will be held at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Hwy 90 Little River, SC 29566, on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens, 65 SC-90, Little River, SC 29566 on Friday April 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
