William T. York Jr.

William "Bill" T. York Jr., age 87, of Little River, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022. Born on April 12, 1934 in Asheboro, North Carolina, he was the son of the late William T. York, SR. and Martha Ellen Vuncannon York.

A retired Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force, Bill served his country diligently for 27 years. He enjoyed the beach, golfing, traveling, cars and most importantly, 50’s music. Bill was a Christian of the Methodist denomination. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Bill was always willing to lend a helping hand. Not only was Bill a people person who loved everyone, he also loved dogs and animals.

Survivors include his loving and faithful wife of 70 years, Hilda York; children, Debbie Thompson (Michael), Roxanne Marshall (Steve Harris), Todd York (Cindy); grandchildren, Ryan Thompson, Matthew Thompson (Charlotte), Kyle Marshall, Collin Taylor Marshall, Katie Swancy (Ryan), Mary York; one great granddaughter, Brianna Thompson.

Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory. Mr. York will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, at a later date.
