Wolfgang "Wolf" A. Schindler

Wolfgang “Wolf” A. Schindler, 76, of Little River, SC, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife and daughter by his side on Friday, August 4, 2023. He was the son of the late Heinrich Doerner and Ursula Schindler.

Born in Darmstadt, Germany, Wolf and his mother immigrated to the United States in the early 1960’s living in Petersburg, Virginia. They obtained their citizenship in 1973 and both were very proud of this accomplishment. A graduate of Petersburg High School, Wolf received his associate degree from Richard Bland College where he was a member of the Zeta Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. It was while in college he obtained his nickname of “Wild Man” that carried with him throughout his life. Wolf was introduced to Myra Cranford by his high school best friend Curtis Stephenson in 1971, and the two married on May 18, 1973. Together with Curtis and his wife, Wanda, the couple recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on a Mediterranean cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway. The four traveled together for many years often spending their evenings playing cards.

A technician with Honeywell, Corp., Wolf retired in 2012 following 42 years of dedicated service. He and Myra moved to Little River in August of 2014.

Wolf was a lover of all animals. Over the years he cared for many pets and never passed a dog that he did not want to befriend or pet. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and spent many Sundays cheering the team on with his family. He also enjoyed traveling especially to beaches and Hawaii. Wolf was a kind soul, always willing to help anyone in need. He and his mother were very close. Wolf cared for her throughout her life especially during her latter years.

Surviving in addition to his wife Myra, is his daughter, Amanda Schubert (husband, Jeremy) and twin grandchildren, Archer and Ellis Schubert. His sisters-in-law, Claudette Canter (Tom Dietrich), Paulette Barnett (Brian); brother-in-law, Tim Regan; nephews, Shaun Canter, Andrew Barnett (Megan), Adam Regan (Kaitlin), Lucas Eich; and niece Lily Eich also survive Wolf. He was preceded in death by his niece, Blair.
