

Alan Joseph Finn, 91, of Livingston, N.J., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Philomena Church, 396 South Livingston Ave., Livingston, on Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. The family will receive their friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, from 2 to 6 p.m.
Alan was employed as a legal investigator for the law firm of Kirlin, Campbell and Keating of Manhattan, N.Y. After his retirement, he was a volunteer at the Community Food Bank of NJ, various soup kitchens, and the Great Swamp. He enjoyed collecting and working with his extensive stamp collection. Alan also took great pride in his vegetable garden and was a home handyman. Alan served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps during both World War II and the Korean War.
He was the beloved husband of Kathryn Cornish Finn; devoted father of Karen Finn; Susan and her husband, John Kraft; Carol and her husband, Reverend Paul Sinnott; Alan Finn Jr.; Janet and her husband, Philip Germinario, and Michael Finn; loving grandfather of Jessica Skorton and her husband, Adam Grobe; Matthew Skorton, and Kristin Germinario, and cherished great-grandfather of Kaelin, Emily, and Adriene Grobe. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Community Food Bank of NJ or the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR).
