

Alexander William Stack, Sr., 94, died peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Lyons, N.J. His family will receive relatives and friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Friday, 6 until 8 PM. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 AM followed by the committal service at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
Alexander enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 during WWII achieving rank of sergeant in counter intelligence in North Africa and Italy and receiving the Bronze Star medal for meritorious service in combat.
He retired as Department Head of Laundry at Clara Maass Memorial Hospital, Belleville after attending Rutgers and Seton Hall Universities.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Amelia, he is survived by his three children, Alexander, Jr. and his wife Patricia, daughter Linda Evans and her husband Robert and daughter Carol Tadych and her husband Joseph; he is also survived by six grandchildren, many step-grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, all who loved him very much. He will be missed by many friends and neighbors alike.
