Angela was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by compassion, dedication, and a love of God, family, and community. Gifted with a beautiful voice, Angela began her career as a professional singer before choosing a life of service in the nursing profession. She became a supervisor at St. Michael’s Hospital in Newark, where she met the love of her life, Dr. Emmanuel Ricciardelli. They married, and Angela continued her work as a nurse while Emmanuel completed his training in ophthalmology. Together, they later opened an ophthalmology practice in Jersey City, where they worked side by side for 57 years.
Angela and Emmanuel created a home filled with warmth, hospitality, and joy. They welcomed friends and family for elegant dinners and lively poolside gatherings, and they cherished their time entertaining at their beloved Park Avenue Club, which they joined in its earliest days.
Angela found great joy in evenings at the opera, dancing with Emmanuel, preparing delicious meals for family celebrations, and spending time with those she loved most. She especially treasured her trips to the Borgata in Atlantic City with her brother and sister‑in‑law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Emmanuel Ricciardelli, and her parents, Peter Vincent Apostolico and Marie Palumbo Apostolico.
Angela is survived by her brother Vincent Peter Apostolico and his wife Ethel, and her sister, Rose Marie Reber. Her legacy lives on through her nieces and nephews: Judith Apostolico-Buck (Michael Buck), Vincent Apostolico Jr (Susan), Mary Apostolico, Ellen Apostolico-Berry (James Berry), Matthew Reber (Leslie), and Jessica Reber. She was also blessed with fourteen great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew, Dawson Apostolico.
Angela is also lovingly remembered by her brothers‑in‑law, Dr. Armand Ricciardelli (Phyliss) and Dr. Orlando Ricciardelli (Rosemarie), along with their children: Paul Ricciardelli (Cissy), Glen Ricciardelli (Monica), Lisa Palmieri (John), Dominique Gentile (Michael), Vanessa Canfield (Sean), and Armand Ricciardelli (Dina).
