
Born January 6, 1951, Anthony was the beloved son of the late Samuel and Josephine (Mazzarisi) Battista. A longtime resident of West Orange, he built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and kindness.
Anthony began his career as a civilian employee for the United States Army at Fort Monmouth before moving into sales with Hewlett Packard. Known for his strength and wisdom, Anthony made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was someone people could always turn to for advice, comfort, and understanding. A caring and thoughtful listener, he had a quiet way of making others feel supported and valued.
Anthony enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. Above all, his greatest joy was his family, especially his cherished grandchildren, A.J. and Gabriella, who were truly the center of his world. His faith in God remained a guiding presence throughout his life.
Anthony was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Robert Battista and Sam Battista.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 54 years, Fran (Laudadio) Battista; his loving son, Anthony L. Battista and his wife, Lauren; his adored grandchildren, A.J. and Gabriella; and his sister, Maryann Barilla, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 East Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Philomena Roman Catholic Church, 386 South Livingston Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039, followed by a Committal at Gate of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleum in East Hanover, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Anthony’s memory may be made to the Cancer Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.
Anthony will be remembered for his strength, compassion, unwavering love for his family, and the kindness he shared so freely with others. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
