

He was a long-time resident of West Orange, before moving to the Timber Pines Community in Spring Hill, Florida and, eventually residing at the Regency Oaks Retirement Community in Clearwater, Florida. Tony was born on May 17, 1930 in Newark, New Jersey, to parents, Vito and Nicolina Camasta. He graduated from West Side High School in 1948. Tony went on to establish a career as a successful Salesman, working for The Prudential Insurance Company for over Thirty years. In addition, Tony owned several small businesses, including The Valley Sweetshop in West Orange, NJ, and the Prospect Deli, in Maplewood, NJ. As a member of the Regency Oaks Community, Tony was actively involved with the Florida Life Care Residents Association (FLICRA). He enjoyed playing poker and pinochle with his fellow residents and made numerous trips back to New Jersey to spend time and share the important moments with his beloved family.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann (nee Ristoppia), his wife of 10 years, Marion (nee Bisecegia), his brother Joseph Camasta, his sister Mary Martino and his son Michael Camasta.
Tony is survived by his children Carl and Janet Camasta of Succasunna, NJ, Anthony and Colleen Camasta of Bethlehem, PA, Patricia and Harry Michetti of Marlboro, NJ, and Michele and Evan Kest of Succasunna, NJ. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren. Anthony is also survived by his sister, Gloria Poshywak of Hillsborough, NJ, and his brother Victor Camasta of Spring Hill, FL.
A visitation is scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2025, from 3 - 7 p.m. at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, NJ 07039. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 21st, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Raphael Roman Catholic Church, 346 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, NJ, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
