Tony was born on March 7, 1936, in New York City, to Michele and Santa (Labombarda) Cirillo. He resided and worked in New York City for most of his life before moving to West Caldwell ten years ago.
Tony will be forever remembered for his lifelong career with the Fulton Fish Market. He began his career as a fish handler and ultimately rose to become Union President, a position he held for many years while advocating for the health, welfare, and well-being of its members. Even long after his retirement, Tony continued to consult with and advise the Union, remaining a valued source of knowledge and guidance.
Tony was predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife of 44 years, Marie (Landusco); his brother, Frank; sister-in-law, Rosalie; brother-in-law, Pasquale Serrone; and sisters-in-law, Monica Richardi, Teresa Sorrento, and Patricia Bruno.
He is survived by his sister, Grace Serrone; brothers-in-law, Victor Sorrento, Frank Richardi, and Peter Landusco and his wife, Valerie; as well as many nieces and nephews who lovingly cherished their “Uncle Tony.”
A gentle giant in the lives of all who knew him, Tony treasured his family and friends, who were truly his lifeline. He was always happiest surrounded by the people he loved and never missed an opportunity to enjoy “the party.” Tony’s warmth, generosity, and larger-than-life presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 East Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Philomena Roman Catholic Church, 386 South Livingston Avenue, Livingston, NJ. A committal service will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleum, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ.
