Anthony Patrick Rossi Sr. (63) of East Hanover, NJ passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024 surrounded by his beloved family. Anthony was born to Anthony and Joan Rossi on September 13, 1960 in Jersey City, NJ. Shortly thereafter, his family moved to East Hanover where he lived until starting a family of his own in Morris Plains.
Alongside his brother, Anthony quickly showed an affinity to cars when he began working at his eventual brother-in-law's gas station, Carnevale’s Gulf. From there, Anthony worked at gas stations owned by a close friend, before becoming an owner of multiple Sunoco’s across North Jersey. His passion for cars did not stop there, Anthony was a Cadillac and Corvette enthusiast.
If you knew Anthony, the only thing more important than cars was his high school sweetheart, Donna. Together since he was 17, and Donna 13, the couple eventually wed in 1985. While Anthony was proud of his accomplishments and cars, he took greatest pride in the family and home that he built. Daddy’s girl, Jenna, was born in 1987 and Anthony Jr. In 1989.
Anthony’s best memories included his closest friends and family, with Frank Sinatra music blasting in the background. From Sunday dinners at home and in Little Italy, to Giants Super Bowl Victories, Jersey Shore summers, and the Coffee Clutch at Dunkin’ Donuts. There was truly nothing Anthony loved more than laughing with his friends and family. And judging off of the Parkinsons’ walk turn-outs, his friends and family loved laughing with him just as much. Through it all, his most treasured recent memory is the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father Anthony, his in-laws Michael and Catherine Clark, his grandparents, his sister-in-law Donna, and his favorite dog Champ.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, his children, Jenna (Tom) Racioppi, Anthony Jr (Tayler) Rossi, his three grandchildren (James, Julianna, Anthony III), and his grand-dog Rudy. He is also survived by his mother, Joan, brother, Peter, sister, Paula, and a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews that he loved dearly.
Float like a Butterfly, Sting Like a Rossi. Always & Forever.
