

Armen was born on February 21, 1945 in Tehran, Iran, to parents, Edward Tergevorkian and Emma Barseghian. He was the first born, followed by his 2 brothers, Sarkis and Caren. Growing up in Tehran, he attended Mehr Elementary school and then Alborz College for High School. He came to the United States to continue his education, where he first attended Linfield College in Portland, Oregon and then finished his degree at Ohio State University where he received his Bachelors in Chemical Engineering. After college Armen went back to Iran to serve in the Army for 2 years in the city of Shiraz and then returned to the United States where he worked for many companies across various cities. He later met his wife, Rita in 1991 and got married shortly after in 1992. They had 2 daughters together, Giselle and Coleen, born in 1995 and 1998, respectively. He continued to work as a chemical engineer and spent the last part of his career at Merck Pharmaceuticals, where he worked for over a decade, eventually retiring in 2013. He spent the last 30 years of his life as a resident of Hillsborough, New Jersey.
Armen was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Emma and his youngest brother Caren.
Armen is survived by his wife, Rita, his children Giselle and Coleen, and his brother Sarkis.
A funeral service for Armen will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church, 200 W Mt Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ 07039.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Armenian Church Endowment Fund in Armen’s name.
