Barbara Lela MacKenzie, 81, of Livingston, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012. Her family will be receiving friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, 3-8 PM. The Memorial Service will be on Thursday at the Federated Church of Livingston, 6 West Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston (W. Mt. Pleasant at N. Livingston Ave.) at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to her church would be greatly appreciated.
Born in Hackensack, Barbara lived in East Rutherford moving to Livingston in 1963. She had been Homecoming Queen at Fairleigh Dickinson University and graduated there in 1961 with a BS in Business. Barbara had worked for many years at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Woodridge. She also was a member of the Federated Church of Livingston, long time member of the Livingston Committee for the Handicapped and a member of the Essex County Republican Committee.
Surviving her is her beloved husband of fifty-two years, Robert G. and devoted sons David and Douglas.
