

Barry W. Smith, 70, of Shillington, PA and formerly of Livingston and Lake Hopatcong, NJ and Kunkletown, PA passed away peacefully Saturday, March 30, 2013 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center surrounded by his daughters and grand-daughter.
Born in Livingston, NJ, he was the son of the late Beverly E. and Helen M. (Ochs) Smith. He was a 1960 graduate of Livingston High School and graduated from Rutgers University.
He was previously employed as Manager of Randolph Township, Penn Jersey Paving, A Pocono Country Place, CMC Engineering and retired from the PA Turnpike Commission.
He was a lifelong member of the Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Association and a member of the Kunkletown Rod and Gun Club and the Shillington Social Quarters. He enjoyed boating, fishing, water-skiing, gardening, shooting pool and playing the lottery.
Barry was survived by his three daughters: Renee Smith (Mohnton, PA), Melissa Smith-Hemida (wife of Khaled Hemida, Caldwell, NJ), Lori Smith (Caldwell, NJ) and his loving grand-daughter Kasey Smith (Lebanon, PA). He is also survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Renee Smith (Caldwell, NJ), his sister Diane (Dee) Palen (Budd Lake, NJ), his Aunt Carol Huck (Livingston, NJ) and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Beverly E. (Bob) Smith, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home. 145 East Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ 07039 on Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 4-8 PM. Services will be at 11 AM Friday, April 5, with burial to follow at Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Ave, East Hanover, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
