Blanche P. Klosowski, 91, of Livingston, passed away on February 1, 2023 in Livingston, NJ. Born in Newark, she was a graduate of Westside High School, Newark and worked in the Accounting Department at Prudential Insurance Company following High School. Married to her husband, Frank in 1951; they enjoyed 67 years together. Moved to Livingston in 1953 where they raised their three children. A homemaker for years, she then became an Aide for Livingston School District at Heritage Junior High School, and later, a sales associate at Lane Bryant in the Livingston Mall before retiring in 1993. Blanche was also a member of the Polish American Club of Whippany.
Blanche was a caring and generous person, constantly entertaining her family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the Jersey Shore, Livingston Town Pools, and Florida along with traveling the world. Blanche traveled to various states, many different islands in the Caribbean, Europe, Egypt, and Iceland along with numerous cruises including the Panama Canal.
Blanche was an avid reader. She read novels constantly, especially James Patterson. The Star Ledger was read on a daily basis and she always looked forward to the West Essex Tribune every Thursday and their Trivia Contests. She liked doing crossword puzzles and word searches while sitting outdoors listening to Englebert Humperdinck, 1950’s songs and Polish melodies. Blanche adored her pet cats throughout the years and loved playing tennis. Watching Soap Operas, Reality Shows and Game Shows was another pastime along with caring for all her plants. However, throughout all the years, she was a dedicated homemaker with her priority being taking care of the family. She will be truly missed by all her family and friends.
Blanche was predeceased by her parents, Jean and Frank Sweeney, her loving husband, Frank; daughter, Joanne DeMartino; and sister, Stella Piekarz.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Sikora (Michael Sikora III) of Livingston, son, Frank Klosowski, Jr. of Livingston and son-in-law, Ralph DeMartino of Elkton, MD. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Victoria Sikora (Joseph Thompson) of Bordentown, Michael Sikora IV of Hopewell, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8 from 3pm to 8pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 9 at 10AM at St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston, with entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
