Charles Phillip Buckley Jr. age 84, of Livingston, NJ, formerly of Short Hills, NJ, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday May 3, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Rose of Lima Church 50 Short Hills Avenue Short Hills, NJ, on Monday May 7, 2012 at 11:15 AM. The family will receive their friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston, NJ, on Sunday May 6, 2012 from 2-6 PM. Born in Detroit, MI, Mr. Buckley was a 1957 graduate of the University of Detroit with a degree in business administration, later he was employed by AT&T, retiring in 1985 as a Comptroller. Mr. Buckley was active in his church and community. He was past president of the AT&T Pioneers of America, was a member and served as an officer in the Millburn Old Guard and the Millburn Republican Club. A longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Rose of Lima Council #6386. Beloved husband of the late Nancy Joan McCarville Buckley, devoted father of Charles Phillip Buckley III and his wife Joy, Laura A. Norris, Mary C. Hadrava and her husband Jim, Becky Palmer and her husband Stuart, Abigail M. Hochkiss and her husband Todd, loving grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, dear brother of John P. Buckley, Mary Ellen Byington and the late William Buckley, he was also survived by many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
