David was a devoted sports fan who faithfully cheered for the New York Giants, New York Yankees, New York Rangers, and he was an avid fan of the UConn Women's basketball team. After retiring from the Newark Police Department, Dave worked as an investigator with the Sumas Family corporation of ShopRite stores in New Jersey.
