Dennis K. Crowley, age 82, passed away on April 7, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
He was a resident of Haymarket, VA, for a short time, but was a long time resident of East Hanover, NJ. Dennis was born on January 26, 1944 in Elizabeth, NJ, to parents William & Rose Crowley. After graduating from Manasquan High School, he went on to attend Bethel College in McKenzie TN for a few years, and graduated from The American Academy McAllister Institute of Mortuary Science. Dennis proudly served our country as a Sergeant in the United States Army and worked in search and recovery from 1968 – 1970 in Vietnam.
Strong work ethic is a true legacy that Dennis leaves behind. He was proprietor of Crowley Shell Gas Station in Livingston NJ for many years. His main career was in the automobile industry, working for Elmwood Ford in Elmwood Park NJ and then Quality Ford in East Rutherford NJ as a General Sales Manager. After retirement, he worked as much as possible for SCI New Jersey funeral services, assisting with visitations, masses and burials throughout the state.
When not working, Dennis could be found on any golf course, rain or shine! The game wasn’t always good, in fact “lousy” was the word he would need to occasionally use, but that was his happy place. As a 30 year season ticket holder for the NY Giants, he bled “Big Blue” through and through. As we know, in the last few seasons, it wasn’t always an easy job to be a NY Giants fan, but someone had to do it, and he did it well! At the end of the day, his favorite past time was spending time with family, which ultimately motivated Dennis & his wife Sharon to move to Virginia in June of 2024 to be closer to his daughter and 3 beautiful grandchildren.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents William F. and Rose V. Crowley, his brother Thomas G. Crowley, his brothers in law, Edward Gragnano and Lester Frank, sister-in-law Joy Crowley, mother-in-law Emma L. Shea, father-in-law James J. Shea, and brother-in-law James J. Shea II.
Dennis is survived by his wife Sharon Shea Crowley, his daughter and son-in-law Jaime (Crowley) Damon and Sean Damon and his 3 beautiful grandchildren, Thomas (Trin) Keefe (13), Connor Keefe (11) and Cassidy Keefe (8), his siblings Barbara Frank of Lake Como NJ, Kay Gragnano of Spring Lake NJ, William F. Crowley of Stuart FL, sister in laws Virginia Crowley of Spring Lake NJ and Mary Ann Shea of Bayonne NJ, his nieces and nephews, Kevin Frank, Nicole Behler, Joseph Gragnano, Diana Glaiser, Joanna Westbrook, Gregory Crowley, Dennis Crowley, Patrick Crowley, James J Shea III, Suzanne Rokose, Jacqueline Cleary and Jennifer Tarantino and many great nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his new puppy Riley, but will enjoy many long walks with Bailey up in Heaven.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15th from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, NJ. The funeral Mass will be on Thursday, April 16th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philomena R.C. Church, 396 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, with interment to follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562 at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in honor and memory of Dennis.
