Diosdado C. Ordonez

Diosdado was born on January 12, 1939, in Cavite City, Philippines, to Salvador and Filipinas (Calpo) Ordoñez. He was a hardworking, generous, and loyal man who believed deeply in the importance of family, education, and perseverance.

Diosdado attended Rizal Memorial Colleges in Davao City, Philippines, where he completed both his high school and college education. While still in high school, he began working as an accounting clerk to pay for his own schooling. He continued working throughout college, earning his bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minor in Business and Administration, with his earnings going directly toward his tuition.

Following graduation, Diosdado took the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination and was one of only two students to pass on his first attempt. He officially began his career as an accountant at the same firm where he had worked as a clerk. True to his generous and selfless nature, he then used his salary to fund the education of all four of his siblings.

In the mid-1970s, Diosdado emigrated to the United States with his beloved wife, Clotilde, and their adored son, Richard. He went on to establish a successful career as the Vice President of a sugar factory in New York, where he worked until his retirement in 2006.

Diosdado was also deeply committed to giving back to the community. He served as President of Davaoeño, Inc., an organization dedicated to providing scholarships to high school graduates in Davao. His own journey through education and hard work made him especially passionate about helping young people pursue opportunities for a better future.

Above all else, Diosdado was fiercely devoted to his entire family (in both the states and in the Philippines). He was known for his generosity, loyalty, determination, and, perhaps most memorably, his booming laugh. Those who knew him will fondly remember his famous expression, “Aww man!” and his love of karaoke—especially his signature song, Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.” His larger-than-life personality, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed.

Diosdado was preceded in death by his parents, Salvador and Filipinas Ordoñez; his older brother, Roberto “Bobby” Ordoñez; his younger sister, Luz Taduran; and his youngest sister, Honorata Ramiro.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 61 years, Clotilde G. Ordoñez; his son, Richard Ordoñez; his daughter, Chloe Ordoñez; his younger brother, Victoramer Ordoñez and his wife, Shirley; as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Diosdado will be forever remembered and greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 145 East Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ, with a Prayer Service to take place at 6:30pm.
