

Born in Newark, NJ, to Charles and Mary Hummel. One of the kindest, most generous, compassionate, people to ever walk this earth. She was “Aunt Sis” to family, and “Dee” to close friends. She worked for many years at Lord and Taylor in Milburn. In 1972 she won their prestigious gold medal award given to one employee each year for excellence in service. The role she cherished most however, was that of wife and mother.
Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband Marsden J. Shaw; and her dear brothers Charles Hummel and wife Mary, Robert Hummel, Richard Hummel and wife Norma, Edward Hummel and wife Nicholett and Jack Hummel. She is survived by her loving children Kathy Nielsen and husband Hugh, Robert Shaw and wife Grace and Nancy Stier and husband Jeff; adoring grandchildren Erika, Jon and Jenna Nielsen and Samantha and Stephanie Shaw; also survived by her dear sister Marlene McFadden and husband Harry and sisters-in-law Yolanda and Judy Hummel and many loving nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Her family will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Friday, February 16 from 4-8 PM. The Blessing service celebrating her life will be offered at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 AM followed by the committal service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
