Dorothy M. Macheska

Dorothy M. (nee: Evans) Macheska, 78, died Friday, April 1, 2011 at Mountainside Hospital, Glen Ridge. Her family will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Sunday, 2-8 PM. and on Monday at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, 10 St. Paul’s Place, Nutley, 9:30 until 11 AM when the funeral service celebrating her life will begin. Dottie was born in Wilkes Barre, PA and lived in Nutley for 50years. She retired as a secretary at CerTech, Inc, Woodridge, in 1995 after ten years. Prior she worked for Western Electric in Kearny and Jersey City. An active member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church, Dottie was a member of its choir, was a Sunday School teacher, served as a deaconess and was Chairwoman of its Outreach Community.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Leonard, Sr., devoted children Janine DeFeo (and Marc), Leonard, Jr. (and Mary), Gregory A.(and Lora) and her loving grandchildren, Lauren and Marc DeFeo and Nicole and Michele Macheska; she is also survived by her brothers, David A. and Ronald Evans.
