

She was also affectionately known as Amy, MIL, Nana, Grandma and Aunt Elaine. She will be remembered for her strong Catholic faith, her love of family and friends and her years of service to others.
Elaine was born in Newark, New Jersey. She grew up in Irvington and graduated from Archbishop Walsh High School. Elaine and her loving husband Bob McDermott raised their family in Livingston, New Jersey. They both were active members of St. Philomena's Parish and they also ran a family printing business in Livingston. Elaine and Bob cherished their family vacations, especially to Maine and the Jersey shore.
Elaine was predeceased by her husband Bob. Elaine then found her second love and married Joseph DeCroce. Elaine and Joe moved to Lakewood, New Jersey. Elaine and Joe enjoyed their trips to Atlantic City. Elaine started a Home Caregiver business where she always went above and beyond for "her ladies". Elaine loved to entertain and her house was always filled with family and friends. You never knew who would be invited for a holiday meal, a celebration or a family dinner. She warmly welcomed everyone. Elaine spent her last three years living in Little Egg Harbor with Tim and his family.
Elaine was predeceased by her parents, her sister Marilyn Gecz, her brother James Carroll, both of her husbands Bob and Joe and her angel grandson Liam.
Elaine is survived by her children Bob (Leah), Kim (Barb), Tim (Manana) and Mike (Mary). Her grandchildren Kelly (Alex), John (Rachel), Riley (Trevor), Tim, Erin, Holly, Katie and Andrew. Her great grandchildren Ava, Bella, Brielle and Lucas. Elaine is also survived by many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Elaine's niece Maryellen and her husband Detlef were special companions for her over her last few years.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 145 East Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held the same day at 11:30 am at Saint Philomena Roman Catholic Church, 386 S Livingston Ave, Livingston, NJ, with a Committal to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleum, East Hanover.
