Evelyn M. Bennington

Evelyn M.(Owen) Bennington, 89, of Livingston, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013. Her family will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Tuesday, 4-8 PM. Everyone is invited directly to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 94 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston on Wednesday at 10 AM where the funeral service celebrating her life will be offered. The committal service will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church or St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, P.O. Box 159, Madison, N.J. 07940.

Born in Newark, Evelyn and her beloved late husband, Robert B. Bennington II lived in West Orange for many years moving to Livingston 27 years ago. Evelyn was an active member and volunteer of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Livingston and the Women’ Club of Livingston. She was also a member of the Phillipsburg Railroad Historians Museum.

She was a claims examiner for Prudential Insurance Co. for ten years retiring in 1986. Previously she was a reader for Burrelle’s Press Clipping Service in Livingston.

Surviving are her devoted sons, Thomas R. and wife Barbara, Boyd P. and Erika Drumm and loving grandsons, Thomas R, Jr. and wife Heather and Gregory J.
