Evelyn Bautista Chu-Fong

She was a long-time resident of East Hanover, Evelyn was born on the fifth of November in San Fernando, La Union in the Philippines, to parents, Remigio Bautista and Engracia Lopez. Evelyn attended college in the Philippines, earning her Bachelors degree in Science (Nursing). She immigrated to the United States in the 1970’s. Evelyn went on to establish a career as a Registered Nurse, working at St Michael’s Medical Center for over 40 years.

Evelyn was passionate about TV, faith, food, and family. She started a second career, binging international television soap operas. And for as long as she was able, Evelyn attended mass regularly at St. Rose of Lima Church. She sampled takeaway from various restaurants throughout northern New Jersey, trying everything once. And as she had throughout her life, she kept in close contact with her friends, siblings, children, and grandchildren.

Evelyn was predeceased by husband, Aldrick; and her siblings, Edward, Linda, Jean, and Joel.

Evelyn is survived by siblings, Macrina, Remigio, Mel, Aura; her children, Amy, Anne Marie, and Alex; and her grandchildren, Maeve and Nico.

The viewing/visitation is scheduled for Tuesday November 4th, at Quinn-Hopping (145 E Mt Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ 07039) from 4-8PM, followed by a funeral mass service on Wednesday November 5th, at St Rose of Lima Church (312 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, NJ 07936) at 10AM.
