I will forever have the fondest of memories of the 4th of July family gatherings at the cottage. Those were such great memories of fun, laughter, and love. There was no greater joy than walking up on the front steps to be greeted by Aunt Polly and Uncle George sitting in their rocking chairs welcoming us with loving hugs. Those were such fond memories of our parents and our families coming together to celebrate the summer joys of the lake. What a loving man who placed so much value on the joy of his children and grandchildren, and who was a gentle sole to others. He has left a happy memory in my heart.

Uncle George was the only one of my Aunts or Uncles who was an Engineer that worked in a management position in a commercial company. I remember seeking advice and guidance from him as I was just starting out as a young engineer in business out of the Navy in 1979. I was trying to decide on my career path and what further education might be needed. Both George and Polly were incredibly supportive of us when we were starting our young family in Connecticut in the 80's.

I first met George in 2006 or7when I wandered around the Senior Center looking for the Old Guard meeting. He took me in and I sat next to him until he was no longer able to come to meetings. A sweeter, kinder guy never existed. He and his beloved Polly would head up to Massachuesetts I the summer and he missed her greatly when she died. GOD BLESS and KEEP YOU .George
