George Powell

George W. Powell , 86 was born May 24, 1935 to the late William G and Larcenia Clyburn Powell in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on November 20, 2021 at Clara Maass Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife Dr. June Bohanna Powell, four brothers Issac, Roger, Russell, Jasper Powell, one sister Ruby Alloway. After graduating from Carver High School in Winston Salem NC, he worked for R.J. Reynolds. He then moved to East Orange NJ, he worked for Ford Motor Company. He was a true renaissance man, (pre-door dash and Carvana) he had a delivery service with Shoprite, a car business and a catering service.

He is survived by one daughter Georgetta Mickens, three sisters Albertha Williams, Alice (Miller Allen), and Savannah Johnson, two sister-in laws, Earlene Powell, Jean Bohanna. Three grandchildren Anika, Jamie, Terence, and three great-grandchildren Diamond, Symira, and Mason. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
