Grace E. Lucas (nee: Smith), 98, passed away at Inglemoor Care and Rehabilitation Center, Livingston, on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be offered on Saturday, May 31, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 243 Abington Ave., Newark, at 10 AM. The committal service will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
Grace was born in Newark where she spent almost her entire life. During World War II, she worked for the war effort at RCA, Harrison where she also participated on the RCA Swim Team. After the war, she was the proprietor of Forest Hills Liquor Store, Newark. In retirement, she enjoyed her visits to Atlantic City.
Grace was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward in 1984, her siblings John, Harry, Edward and Alice Smith and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
